  • Recommendation Letters

    Please include three recommendations as part of your JSC application.

    References may be from a professor or academic adviser who has worked closely with you, an employer or supervisor well acquainted with your relevant work performance, and other individuals who can attest to your character, interest in service, background, and leadership abilities.

    References from relatives, family friends, personal friends or JDC staff are not appropriate.

    Your references should complete the linked JSC Recommendation Form. We suggest that you email them the link as soon as possible. You will receive a confirmation email once the form has been submitted on your behalf.

    From past experience we have learned that it can be difficult to secure recommendations over winter vacation. Please make sure to submit the forms early in order to meet the deadline. Due to the high number of reference letters we receive, we encourage you to check-in with your references and confirm they have submitted their letter.
